Role: Creative Content Champion (Volunteer)

We are looking for passionate and committed individuals to join our volunteer team as Creative Content Champions. As a contributor, you will create engaging and meaningful content, articles or short videos that inspire and empower youth in the following focus areas of Oluma Digital:

  1. Personal Development & Leadership
  2. Career & Skills Empowerment
  3. Technology & Digital Literacy
  4. Community & Social Impact
  5. Information Security
  6. Opportunities for the Youth (Scholarships, Internships, etc.)
  7. Book Review and Summaries

Responsibilities

As a Creative Content Champion, you will:

  • General
    • Research, draft, and publish at least one article (800–1200 words) OR one short video (2–5 minutes) per week.
    • Ensure all content is original, impactful, and aligned with Oluma Digital’s vision.
    • Engage youth audiences with empowering, practical, and motivational messages.
  • By Focus Area
    1. Personal Development & Leadership – Create content that promotes self-growth, leadership skills, confidence, and goal setting.
    2. Career & Skills Empowerment – Share career advice, workplace readiness tips, entrepreneurship guidance, or soft/hard skill development resources.
    3. Technology & Digital Literacy – Produce articles or videos that explain digital tools, online opportunities, safe internet use, and tech trends.
    4. Community & Social Impact – Highlight inspiring stories, volunteerism, civic engagement, and initiatives that promote positive change in communities.
    5. Information Security – Educate youth on cybersecurity, online safety, digital privacy, and responsible use of technology.
    6. Opportunities for the Youth (Scholarships, Internships, etc.) – Research and share verified opportunities such as scholarships, fellowships, internships, and competitions.
    7. Book Review and Summaries – Provide insightful reviews or simplified summaries of books that are relevant for youth empowerment and education.
  • Collaboration
    • Participate in occasional team meetings or feedback sessions.
    • Contribute ideas for improving youth engagement and content impact.

Qualifications & Key Criteria

  • Passion: A genuine interest in youth empowerment and making a difference.
  • Commitment: Reliability in contributing one article or video weekly.
  • Willingness to Empower Others: A strong belief in sharing knowledge and uplifting communities.
  • Strong writing or communication skills (experience in blogging, content writing, or video creation is a plus, but not mandatory).
  • Creativity and ability to convey ideas in an engaging and inspiring way.
  • Basic digital literacy (comfortable using online platforms, Google Docs, or video tools).
  • Language Requirement: Ability to create content in Afan Oromo, English, or Amharic.

Remote / Online

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 1 – 3 hours per week, depending on the type of content created.
  • Flexible schedule, as long as contributions are consistent.
